Student Registration Fees
Community Consolidated School District 46 charges each student a registration fee. This fee is used to help offset a portion of the cost of materials and supplies that are used in the classroom every single day. These include workbooks, subscriptions, copy paper for materials distributed in class, science materials, paint, glue, markers, software, and so forth.
This year, the District accomplished a goal of improving our use of technology in education by providing all students in grades 3 through 8 a Chromebook. This was only possible thanks to an investment from the State in our District. Our students are now able to use technology in ways never done before. With the exponential growth and use of technology in virtually every career, using technology now will help prepare them for whatever field in which they dream of pursuing a career.
Unfortunately, that investment from the State does not cover all the costs of the program, and the District is left trying to fill in the balance. This year we will include a new Technology Fee for all students in grades 3 through 8. This fee will specifically be used to cover the cost of insurance on the devices.
With your help through Registration Fees and the new Technology Fee, the District is reaching new heights in educational quality. Thank you for your support, and we look forward to a bright 2019-20 school year!
